Fort Pierce, FL – Gregory L. Jones, Jr. and Treasure Coast Barbers United Inc. (TCBU) are making a profound impact on the lives of young people in Florida. By providing free haircuts, lessons in proper hygiene, and mentoring, TCBU is dedicated to empowering youth to become civic-minded professionals and confident individuals.

A Vision of Empowerment

TCBU operates with a clear vision: “To empower our youth to become civic-minded professionals.” Gregory L. Jones, Jr., a native of Fort Pierce, FL, embodies this vision with his dedication to community service and mentorship. As a family man, Gregory aspires to be an influential example of what is possible when one embraces a growth mindset and an attitude of gratitude for every situation life presents.

A Decade of Dedication

With over a decade of experience as a barber instructor at Indian River State College (IRSC) and CEO of MLB Barbershop 2 Inc., Gregory believes in the philosophy of "each one teach one." He emphasizes the importance of equipping youth with the fundamental tools for success as they embark on their entrepreneurial journeys. This belief led to the creation of TCBU in 2015, officially established as a nonprofit in 2021.

The Mission

TCBU’s mission is to "ignite confidence in our youth—one self-care service at a time, enabling them to realize their full creative potential." Through trade exposure, experiential learning, and mentorship, TCBU aspires to create civic-minded professionals in underserved and underprivileged communities. This mission is encapsulated in the words of Deion Sanders: “When you look good you feel good, When you feel good you perform good, When you perform good you get paid good.”

Community Outreach

TCBU is active in several key locations, including the Percy Peek Boys and Girls Club, St. Lucie County Juvenile Detention Center, Palm Beach County Juvenile Detention Center, Treasure Coast High School, and Fort Pierce Westwood Academy. In these venues, Gregory and his team provide not only free haircuts but also vital lessons in proper hygiene and life skills, fostering a sense of pride and self-worth among the youth.

Building a Better Future

Together, Gregory and TCBU are creating a lasting impact. By partnering with beauty professionals, schools, community organizations, and corporations, they are fostering an environment where youth can thrive and become better versions of themselves. Their combined efforts ensure that the young people they mentor are equipped to face the future with confidence and purpose.

Treasure Coast Barbers United Inc. continues to make significant strides in the community, proving that with the right support and guidance, every young person can achieve greatness.
